'Plane Dane' Collar - Premium
This variant is currently sold out
The 'Plain Dane' Collar is a beautifully crafted, traditional style collar made from luxurious vegetable tanned leather. This collar is our most popular design.
Our Premium chocolate leather is relatively firm in structure but still has a small amount of give, making the leash comfortable and easily mouldable, despite the leather thickness.
The hardware we have selected for our designs are low lead, solid brass in a natural brass finish (nickel plated -silver colour- available as a custom request). Low lead means you get quality hardware without the weight of standard solid brass.
Our collars come in a variety of widths to suit a variety of dogs!
Each collar will stretch a small amount over time - up to 3-5cm. If in doubt with our sizes, we suggest you go the smaller size due to the stretch in these collars. If you are trying to decide between sizes, drop us an email and we can help you out (email@example.com). We ask for your dog's neck measurement so we can help select the perfect collar for your fur baby.
HOW TO MEASURE YOU DOGS NECK & CHOSE A COLLAR SIZE -
For a standard buckle collar, you only need to measure the part of the neck where the collar will sit. Use a measuring tape and pull it around your dog's neck with three fingers inserted. This will be your dog's neck measurement. You don't want your collar to be the exact neck size, it will be too tight. Do not measure your dog's current collar - ITwill be too large. If you do not have a measuring tape, you can use string then measure the string with a ruler.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS TO PROLONG THE LIFE OF THIS ITEM -
Try to Avoid Water:
Our leather-goods are NOT designed for wear in water. The leather will stretch and could deform, if it becomes wet. Prolong the life this item by keeping it out of water.
Should this item become wet, the hardware should be rinsed in fresh water. Pat dry the item with a clean dry cloth and allow the item to dry at room temperature, out of sunlight, on a flat surface.
Try to Avoid Dirt:
Should this item become dirty, clean the leather with a soft, dry cloth. If the mark does not budge, try a damp cloth. Allow the item to dry at room temperature, out of sunlight, on a flat surface.
Conditioning & Protection:
Once the item is dry, give it a coating for protection & conditioning. If you have a clear leather conditioner like Dubbin, use that. Otherwise flaxseed/coconut/olive oil should do the trick to soften and protect the leather once more - just rub in with a clean dry cloth. Allow to absorb and wipe off any excess. We suggest you test a small patch first!
The colour of the leather will darken with time as it absorbs oils.
